The Current Rental Environment - Downtown Vancouver

Cheaprealty presents:
Nicholas Meyer discusses the demographics of the rental market in downtown Vancouver, and the affordability of the current housing versus rents, and the inability to push rents further. Nick also doesn't shy away from discussing the impact of condo completions flooding the market soon. He wraps up by mentioning that buying and allowing a horizon of up to 15 years for asset appreciation, can still provide a good return.

This has got to be tech stocks all over again.  It is just so crazy. However, if it comes to Victoria I am leaving.

I just showed this to my husband ... He was on Bay Street turning the tech stock fiasco.  Yes he said it reminded him of Tech Stocks when CNBC had a 24 hour Tech Stock Channel. His theory - now this is the beginning of the end. I also wonder how many people are using their perceived property value as ATM machines like they did in the US.  I imagine it must be huge.  Especially the young people.  I know when I was in my late twenties I might have done that if I perceived my property (I did not own any property in my late twenties) soaring.  Clothes, cars, trips, restaurants. I have so many friends in England that had negative equity in the 90s.  I may forward this to them. Thanks Cheap Realty  - i love your blog.  Have a great weekend!
