Google Housing Beta - is this the end of Real Estate as we know it?
Here is a link to the new, the amazing, the revolutionary, the predicatable, the devastating, the unthinkable, the paradigm busting Google Housing Beta.
Okay, enough of the hype.
Click the link, try it - Google is crawling real estate pages and grabbing listings, not just the MLS. If Google Housing pulls listings from "for sale by owner" and individual web pages, if allows sellers to reach a wider audience while possibly bypassing real estate salespeople without paying 6% commissions -there is some potential to bust the salesperson - seller relationship.
Or maybe I just drank the Google-ade.
Thanks to Keith over at Housing Panic for drawing this development to my attention. What do you think? Will this be the beginning of the end for the real estate business as we know it - or not?
"Goodbye ramen eating real estate clerks. Goodbye zillow.com (who Google will buy anyway) . Goodbye Century 21. Goodbye "Mega-Producer" Russ Shaw. Goodbye Re/Max. Goodbye 6%. Goodbye MLS.
And hello Google Housing!
Hello REALTOR disintermediation. Hello efficiency. And hello world - Google Housing will destroy realtors and estate agents around the globe (finally!)".

You're not serious, are you? You're calling that "paradigm busting"? Looks like an oportunity to me.
Not really, going with the "hype". But I do think it is interesting.
